Designer Spotlight: An Interview with Billy Shore

Interviewed by Ahmed Siddiqui

AS: Can you give a brief bio on yourself and a link to your portfolio?

BS: Hi my name is Billy Shore. I am 24 years old, currently based out of New York, looking to make the move out to San Francisco. I am a designer.

AS: Which team were you on?  Can you please describe what your product/service does?

BS: I am on the team that made the iPhone App called Ideogram. Our product uses the classic game of word association to create an enjoyable play experience between users across the globe.

AS: What was the best part about that team?

BS: What I like most about the team is how quickly we formed and how well we worked together. We were always laughing and having a good time while still getting important work done.

AS: Why should designers come to Startup Weekend?

BS: Designers should come to Startup Weekend because our skill set is needed just as much as developers, marketers and entrepreneurs. Starting with a small group of people is a great way to help designers communicate their own personal vision, as well as the team’s.

AS: Any advice you can give to designers thinking about going to an upcoming Startup Weekend?

BS: Come with an open mind and talk to as many people as possible. Most of the people here are pretty interesting and want to learn more about you too.
